How will you be celebrating the 4th?
The 4th of July has become a huge tradition for us. Every year, our family gathers at Gramma's house on Bungay Lake. The day begins early with decorating the boat for a silly themed boat parade. Past themes have been sports, cavemen, and Mardi Gras. This year's we are going to fall back on the good old red, white and blue, a recurring theme that allows us to be green and recycle from previous years.
After the parade, the children will swim and play while we grill on our Big Green Egg over natural lump charcoal. We will be grilling chicken breasts to serve over a fresh summer salad loaded with fruits and vegetables.
The evening will be topped off in the boat watching local fireworks shot off from many homes around the lake.
The Bungay Lake Fourth of July celebrations are one of North Attleboro's best kept secrets.
While we are making strides toward energy Independence by recycling our supplies for the parade and using natural lump charcoal rather than gas to grill, how will you be declaring your Independence this Fourth of July?
